25+ Years of Professional Web Design, Graphic Design, and Web Development

1993 : My passion ignites

I began using Internet technologies like the web, email, ftp, telnet, irc and usenet to communicate with others while studying at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The first graphical web browser, Mosaic, was developed here at the National Center for Super Computing Applications and eventually became the foundation for Netscape. (NCSA)

1995 : My first website

Built my first website using a text editor on my 486DX2/66 while finishing my studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I went on to develop websites for the World Heritage Museum and the Anthropology Department.

1996 : Developing online coursework

Began work with the Web Technology Group at the University of Illinois working on online statewide education programming. That’s right, we were developing online coursework utilizing database and Flash technologies.

1997 : Digital communications agency

Co-owner of Nuvonix, we specialized in database driven sites fueled by user-created content and custom built content management systems (CMS). We also provided a full range of graphic design services.

2001 : Going direct to better serve my clients

I enjoy working closely with my clients and I am part of their teams. I have been working successfully with many of them for over 15 years providing website design, graphic design, search engine optimization, and other advertising / marketing services.

2009 : WordPress, a new kind of CMS

Having developed my own content management system for over 10 years, I decided to embrace the open source community and start developing highly customized websites with WordPress.

Present : The web is changing–again.

Having worked on the web for over 20 years, I’ve seen it reinvent itself over and over. My ability to read these changes and stay relevant has helped me bring success to my clients and their projects.
